Dear Community Partner,

We are reaching out on behalf of Kurt Suzuki, a 16-year Major League Baseball veteran, who has recently relaunched his nonprofit, the Kurt Suzuki Family Foundation. The foundation is committed to supporting youth development, education, and empowerment through sports. This year, we are thrilled to share a meaningful opportunity to make a lasting impact on young athletes and the Lahaina communities that were devasted by the August 2023 wildfires on Maui. We eagerly invite you to join us as a partner in this mission.

This initiative is especially close to Kurt’s heart, as Maui is his home island. The series of wildfires in Lahaina on August 8, 2023 left an enduring impact on his family, friends, and community, and he continues to feel the sadness of knowing that many still face hardships in their recovery. To help those affected, Kurt Suzuki’s Southern California youth baseball teams, known as SoCal PONO, will be traveling to Lahaina on the two-year anniversary of the fires. We aim to bring support, hope, and the spirit of PONO—integrity, balance, and righteousness—to the children and families still working to rebuild their lives. In partnership with the Boys and Girls Club of Maui, our mission is twofold: to inspire our PONO youth baseball boys through meaningful community service and to provide sports equipment and resources for Lahaina’s children in need.

In addition to our work with the Boys and Girls Club, we are excited to announce that the Kurt Suzuki Family Foundation, alongside the ALL PONO nonprofit organization and hosted by Perfect Game, will be organizing a youth baseball tournament featuring teams from across Hawaii, with plans to open up registration to mainland teams once Hawaii spots have been filled. This tournament not only provides a financial boost to the island but also shines a spotlight on Hawaii’s remarkable youth baseball talent, many of whom are unable to afford travel to the mainland to compete in tournaments there. It’s a chance to bring exposure, revenue, and new possibilities to the talented young players in Kurt’s home island of Maui, Hawaii.

To bring these goals to life, we need your help. We are seeking sponsors who share our commitment to empowering youth and fostering resilience in communities affected by the hardship of the Lahaina wildfires. With your support, we can make a meaningful impact through:
